Indie Thriller Available on Amazon.com

Friday the 13th seems like an ominous release date, especially for DVDs which typically find their release dates on Tuesdays. Nonetheless, Death of Seasons, an independent film made for less then $10,000 and produced in Atlanta, GA, is coming to DVD and On Demand Friday, April 13th, 2007. The movie will be available on Amazon.com via CustomFlix.

Director/Producer Chance White explains why he chose to go with self-distribution, "I chose [this manner] for several reasons.  Going ahead and offering the movie to the public will get my first feature out there and seen, most importantly, and it will help to fund future screenings and festival submissions.  It's a very exciting and revolutionary time for indie filmmakers with self distribution truly becoming feasible via online distribution.  I plan to market the movie primarily via internet marketing"

Death of Seasons is described as a psychological/philosophical thriller akin to films such as A Clockwork Orange and Clerks. Now that's an interesting comparison.

Says White, "Death of Seasons is a niche indie thriller; a philosophical, psychological, truly original movie.  I felt this was the best way to find the audience."

The film stars Delfo Barino, Justice Leak and Desiree Markella. It was produced by Barino and White from a script by Barino. Of his cast and crew White enthuses, "I was very fortunate to work with passionate individuals who were all willing to go the extra mile and find creative solutions under our very limited resources. I am very proud of this film as my first feature."

White feels that lower budget films can benefit more immediately from self-distribution versus the more traditional avenues, "Since Death of Seasons was basically made with no budget, a 100% passion fueled production, and with the high percentage of profits self distribution generates, I'm confident that the movie will find its audience and help to fund future projects, and to pay all those who worked so hard on the movie.  I also plan to use the movie as a platform to launch a series of resources for the aspiring indie filmmakers out there."

White speaks about their marketing efforts to come, "We've come up with a very exciting, innovative and edgy campaign.  It's going to be a lot of fun."

It's encouraging to see independent filmmakers getting their film out to the audiences however necessary. Hopefully they will be able to promote it well enough for as many eyes as possible to see their film.

Look for the DVD and Download to Rent and Purchase on Amazon.com Friday, April 13th.
